The holidays are in full swing! What better way to celebrate – or wind down after a day of holiday stresses – than curling up on the sofa with your furriest friends and watching a family-friendly holiday flick together.
Here are our favorite holiday movies for dog lovers:
1. A Dog Named Christmas (2009)
A developmentally challenged young man with a penchant for caring for animals in need sets out to convince his family – and their whole rural community – to participate in a local shelter’s inaugural “Adopt a Dog for Christmas Program.”
2. Olive, The Other Reindeer (1999)
When Santa cancels his annual flight because of a hurt reindeer, a young Christmas-loving dog named Olive is convinced she has what it takes to get Santa’s flight off the ground and save Christmas.
3. The 12 Dogs of Christmas (2005)
A girl who uses dogs to teach people about the true meaning of Christmas during the Depression.
4. Beethoven’s Christmas Adventure (2011)
A Christmas elf accidentally takes off in Santa’s sleigh, crash lands in a small town, and loses the magic toy bag. Beethoven must rescue the elf, recover the bag from greedy crooks, and return the sleigh to Santa in time to save Christmas.
5. I Want A Dog For Christmas, Charlie Brown (2003)
Linus and Lucy’s younger brother Rerun wants a dog for Christmas, and Snoopy’s brother Spike may be the answer.
6. The Search for Santa Paws (2010)
Magic dogs and an elf team up with two children to rescue Santa who has lost his memory.
7. A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
Repelled by the commercialism he sees around him, Charlie Brown tries to find the true meaning of Christmas.

My name is Jay Kanzler and I am the writer and director of “Marshall’s Miracle”, a wonderful dog movie released by eOne/Sony in late 2015. I’m not sure whether you have had an opportunity to see the film, but I encourage you to do so. It stars Shannon Elizabeth, Lauren Holly and Matthew Settle. It is rated G, and has won numerous awards, including the Dove Award. It is available through Amazon and all the normal places. Here is a link to the IMDb page for the film.
