Puppy Found Abandoned with Eyes and Mouth Superglued Shut

Wichita, Kansas animal rescue group, Beauties and Beasts, Inc. is offering a substantial reward for information and tips that lead to the arrest of the person responsible for a horrific act of abuse against an 8-month old puppy found abandoned along a roadside with her eyes and mouth super-glued shut.

Last week, a good Samaritan spotted a young dog, injured and alone along the side of the road. Initially suspecting the puppy had been hit by a car, the person that found her scooped her up and rushed her to the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Wichita for help.

It was there that veterinarians discovered that, in addition to severe abdominal injuries, the puppy’s eyes and mouth had been superglued shut. Her tongue had also been superglued to the side of her mouth.

“Somebody did this on purpose. Somebody thought it was funny to torture this little puppy,” Randi Carter, a rescuer with Beauties and Beasts told KAKE. “I don’t think it’s funny, my rescue doesn’t think it’s funny.”

Because there was no super glue anywhere else on the puppy’s body, the rescue and veterinarians believe this was an intentional act.

“My guess is they held her head up, and glued her eyes shut. No way this was an accident, no way,” Carter said.

The rescue is offering a reward for information about the puppy of her abuser.

The puppy, now named Glory, is recovering well, although ulcers have developed on her eyes due to contact with the superglue. In addition, the forgiving girl has somehow put the abuse she endured behind her and is already loving her new life with a foster family.

But, because she was not microchipped and was wearing no identification, rescuers don’t know where she came from or who she once belonged to. They’re hoping that someone will recognize the dog and speak up.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sedgwick County Animal Control  at 316-660-7070 or by email at [email protected].
