Here we go again… Police and Animal Control officers in Volusia County, Florida are investigating after yet another dog owner wrapped their dog’s muzzle in tape and posted a photo to Facebook.
Facebook user “Bryan Futur Gomez” posted a photo of his dog, its muzzle wrapped in what appears to be blue painter’s tape on Sunday.
The photo’s caption reads:
All you know is that this is a picture of my dog with tape on his mouth chillin. Now start judging your reasons.

(But it was done for emergency purposes because you discipline your dog at the very moment he’s doing something wrong. Not later because he probably won’t know why you’re punishing him leading to no lesson learned)
A. Because he was chewing on all the stuff and trash on the floor that’s on that orange box.
B. Because he was play biting and hurting a small fragile female chihuahua dog.
C.Because he was crying super loud when he was being dealt with and handled with. Causing to wake up my roommates.
D. Or all of the above.
The poster later explained that he was trying to show his roommate that the dog could easily remove the tape, that the tape was stretchy, and that it had been folded in on itself so as to not be sticky.
The Facebook user made the post public, asking for people to share it. In what comes off as some sort of publicity stunt, he taunts concerned animal lovers, saying “If this post is shared 400 times I will post the conditions that he’s in and how he is able to get out of that, also other training talents that the dog can do thank you.”
“Animal control officers are aware of the post and currently are attempting to identify the person responsible for the act and determine if any charges are to be filed,” according to a press release from the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Just this past November, Daytona Beach Police were flooded with calls, emails, and messages from concerned dog lovers after Katharine Lemansky posted a similar photo of her chocolate Lab with duct tape wrapped around the muzzle in the same manner. After an extensive nationwide manhunt, Lemansky was arrested and charged with animal cruelty in Cary, North Carolina. Shortly after Lemansky’s arrest, another dog owner, in a show of support for Lemansky, posted a photo of her dog’s muzzle wrapped in tape as well. She, too, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

Shame on the people that do this to “teach” the dog a trick! It’s wrong. No if, and or buts. it is WRONG. Animals don’t have a voice and can’t tell someone to stop what they’re doing. This “man” doesn’t deserve to have any type of pet.

says:Those people have no business having a dog.there is a website I want to alert all dog lovers to.it’s called dogs bite.org and these people have an intense hatred for pit bulls. If they had their way all pit bulls would be wiped off the planet. They scare me with their hatred. They have a Facebook page as well. I wish there was a way to get it off the internet. I’m not sure how to do it. I reported it on Facebook as being a threat. And Facebook said it did not violate any of their guidelines.

says:A beautiful female dog showed up on our farm, very suspicious of us. She is Border Collie/Cattle Dog mix (according to vet). Followed me around farm while on my chores. Finally came when I called and offered her a treat. She is wonderful, but found that she had received gun shots in her booty. Vet gave her a clean bill of health and she has become a vital part of our family and farm. Wish I could get hold of the person who did this to her, he/she would get to feel what shot feels like. says:I’m sorry but this is ridiculous! I want to rip that person’s head off, cuz obviously he doesn’t use it for anything! I don’t care what the dog did… that is NOT the way to train a dog! You use POSITIVE reinforcement – you don’t punish them like that – and maybe keep your garbage out of reach and your chihuahua out of the way… hey here’s a novel idea… why don’t you give your dogs to someone that really cares to teach your dogs correctly and love them unconditionally like they love their owners – but YOU? no.
