A family dog is credited with stopping the attempted kidnapping of an 11-year old girl when he bit the suspect, causing him to flee.
An 11-year old girl was outside playing with her dog in the Willow Oak Townhome Complex in Pasadena, Texas when an unknown man approached them.
It was about 10:30am on Sunday when, police say, the attacker grabbed the young girl by the arm and tried dragging her into a dark grey SUV parked nearby.
But, the girl’s Beagle/Terrier mix, Ray, spring into action, biting the would-be kidnapper on the leg, causing him to let go of the girl who ran to safety, Pasadena Police reported.
Eyewitness reports by a family member who witnessed the incident described the attacker as a Hispanic male wearing a tank top. Identifying features include a receding hairline and an upper arm tattoo.
Police are still searching for the suspect, but a witness was able to obtain the kidnapper’s license plate number.
