Imagine That! Loose Dog Causes a Scene at Broadway Performance of ‘Cats’

Service dogs are trained to ignore distractions while working by their handler’s side. But, apparently a human-sized kitty is just too much to ignore!

During a recent performance of Cats on Broadway, an audience member’s service dog broke loose from his human and gave chase to one of the feline performers!

Witnesses told Page Six that, during a recent performance of the Cats revival at Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre, an audience member’s service dog “got away from its owner and ran after Bombalurina, a cat character performed by actress Mackenzie Warren, during the opening number,” Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats.

Thankfully an usher managed to capture to the escaped canine and quickly return him to a “mortified owner” before he could reach center stage and really stir things up!

A spokesperson for the famed musical confirmed the incident, adding, “In the storied history of Cats, this is the first time one of the actual cats was involved in an incident with a dog. We’re pleased to report that no animals or humans were harmed in the dust-up, and the performance continued without a hitch.”

Cats will remain at the Neil Simon Theatre until December 30, when the felines take their final bow.
