In Weatherford, Texas last week, a poor dog was found tortured and left for dead, her muzzle held shut with electrical tape and 5 deep gashes over her body. Rescuers weren’t certain if the little mixed-breed dog would survive.
But just over a week later, the little dog, now called “Hope,” is recovering beautifully – and getting much-deserved attention from around the world.
Rhonda Sears, a veterinary technician who has been caring for Hope, told WFAA News in Dallas/Fort Worth, “Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, England — people from England want to adopt her.” Parker County Sheriff, Larry Fowler added, “The Netherlands, London, Illinois, Arizona. The list goes on. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa.”
Even greater than interest in finding this loving dog a home, is finding the person that did this to her. Sheriff Fowler said that so many donations have be received, they can offer at least a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person that committed this awful crime on Hope. With the way donations are pouring in from around the world, it looks like that reward might be more in the $50-60k range. “We’re looking for any information,” Sheriff Fowler said. “Anything.”
WFAA News said,
Anyone with information on Hope or her abuser should contact Parker County Crime Stoppers at 817-599-5555. Reward offers can be funneled through the Sheriff’s Office at 817-594-8845. The Texas Humane Alliance encourages anyone with information contact the Sheriff’s Office.
