Widow Goes to Shelter to Adopt the Dog that No One Else Wanted

Just a few months after losing both her husband and her own beloved dog, Melani Andrews walked into her local animal shelter and asked for “the oldest dog you have, and the one no one wants to adopt.”

That’s when she met Jake.

Jake is a 12-year-old dog who’d been at the shelter longer than all the other dogs. In addition to badly scarred skin and a mouthful of crooked teeth, Jake is faced with an untreatable, terminal cancer.

But for Melani, it was a match made in heaven!
