The U.S. Postal Service announced a new series of postage stamps that honor the most adorable, loyal members of our armed forces – military working dogs!

According to a USPS press release, the new booklet of 20 stamps, to be released August 1, will feature 5 stamps each of the following breeds — German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever, Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherd — breeds that most commonly serve in America’s armed forces.

The background of each stamp features a detail of a white star. A star appears in the center of each block. The stylized digital illustrations are in red, white, blue and gold to represent the American flag and patriotism.

The stunning artwork was created by DKNG Studios. Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamps.

  1. You could have left the Dutch shepherd off , the Doberman Pinscher is far more deserving of place as they served in the military as well as law enforcement. They always seem to be left out. What is this about?

how can you not include the Doberman when honoring Military Working Dogs??
there’s even a doberman statue in Guam honoring 25 dogs who gave their lives in 1944 assisting with the liberation of Guam!!
