Virginia Beach Animal Control officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of a malnourished, emaciated Beagle that was found inside a crate that had been dumped in a ditch on the side of the road over the weekend.

At 7:30 a.m. Saturday, a citizen spotted the crate and dog dumped in a ditch in the 3600 block of Winston Avenue in Virginia Beach and contacted police. An animal control officer dispatched to the site found a senior, female, tri-colored Beagle who’d been severely neglected for quite some time.

The Beagle was drastically underweight and in poor health, with a massive tumor on her left side.

Anyone with any information about the Beagle or her owner is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
