KC Pet Project announced the exciting news in a Sunday night post-Super Bowl Facebook post.

“KC WINS! We are so excited to announce that the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle, Derrick Nnadi is choosing to celebrate the Super Bowl win by paying for the adoptions of all the adoptable dogs currently at KC Pet Project!” The post continued, “we have had an amazing, season-long, partnership with Derrick and he couldn’t have thought of a better ending.”

Throughout the season, Nnadi sponsored an adoptable dog after every Chiefs win, contributing to dozens of dogs finding their homes. But, after winning the biggest football game of the year, he celebrated in a huge way, by paying the adoption fees for every single dog at the KC Pet Project shelter.

The adoptions are sponsored by the Derrick Nnadi foundation. Click here to learn more. To see all available dogs, click here.

This is a wonderful gesture. Although I hope this process still requires vetting and home visits to assure these dogs are not going to used in a negative way such as bait, being abused or a toy for young kids. It would be nice to see this young man reach out to educate people/ kids in schools about neutering and spaying their animals & explaining how important an animal is to a human being in many regards. I’m not trying to put a negative on this,it’s something we see coming into our rescue much too often.
