When your dog suffers from pain, arthritis, joint disease, or even from allergies, you’ll do anything to help them feel better. Now, it’s easy to ease pain and inflammation from the comfort of home using PEMF for dogs.
PEMF, or pulsed electromagnetic field, therapy has been used for decades to aid in healing broken bones, spinal injuries, and arthritis in racehorses. And, more recently in treating fractures, healing fusions, and easing arthritis pain in humans. Now, our furriest family members are benefiting from the safe and effective treatment to aid in a wide array of ailments.
As in humans, PEMF therapies can be used for a variety of conditions. Because the electromagnetic fields activate Nitric Oxide, a molecule that promotes healing, this therapy aids in boosting cellular metabolism and oxygenation of the tissues, nerves, and muscles. In fact, because of their accelerated metabolism, pets tend to respond even more quickly and dramatically to PEMFs.
Canine conditions that are very responsive to PEMFs include arthritis, injuries, wound healing, cancers, circulatory disease, fractures, spinal cord injuries, allergies, aging, and more, often resulting in reducing or eliminating the need for potentially harmful medications, yet perfectly harmless and safe enough to use in conjunction with traditional treatments.
In 2010, researchers at the University of Bologna in Italy conducted a study on the affects of PEMF therapy on dogs with osteoarthritis. Only halfway through the study, a majority of the dogs studied had already shown dramatic improvements to mobility and pain using PEMF treatment. Most amazingly, these benefits lasted without the use of any anti-inflammatory drugs. Researchers concluded that “PEMF is a non-invasive remedy, lacking in adverse effect, easy to employ, and useful for controlling pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis.”
PEMF devices for dogs are available in a variety of forms, from mats that pets can lay on for full-body therapy, patches, devices that are worn like a coat, or to wrap a specific body part. Even The Dogington Post’s founder and publisher found great success in using PEMF therapy to relieve severe neck pain.
PEMF is especially remarkable for dogs because of its unique ability to pass through fur, skin, bandages and bone – non-invasively, treating the entire body of a dog lying on a PEMF mat and reaching deep into the joints and muscles stimulating circulation and healing – all while your dog feels nothing but relief.
Your dog won’t know they’re getting therapy, but the relief they’ll feel is very real. Typically, pet owners start to notice dramatic results within two weeks and almost immediate difference in their dog’s mobility, especially when getting up and while walking.

I use BEMER Vascular Therapy with my dogs and other people’s dogs and I also use it on myself and human massage clients. My dogs have responded extremely well to BEMER. Careful with products that push “more power” as MORE is not always better when it comes to using PEMF’s. In any case…glad to see this article without promotion of any specific product. PEMF has been around for along time. Good Job!!
I use BEMER PEMF. It’s the most advanced, have the most research and the best in its class and it’s for both pet and human. The most effective in-home FDA class 1 medical device for the whole family to use for many many years. A worthwhile investment!
EarthPulse has some great options for PEMF for pets that less costly than mats and more powerful also. There is also a brand called Pet Friends PEMF that works great under $500. Nice article btw! Pet life can be improved considerably with PEMF therapy
