Colorado Police Officers Rescues Dog from Dangerous Storm Drain

Nederland, Colorado police officer Jake Smith came to the rescue of a dog trapped and struggling to stay above the rushing water in a rapidly flowing storm drain.

When Officer Smith saw a woman at the edge of the swollen creek, searching frantically for her dog, he didn’t hesitate to jump in to help.

Footage from Smith’s body camera shows the officer in the culvert, helping the dog out just moments before he would have been swept under the road with the rushing water.
