In the wake of a devastating Mexico earthquake that left nearly 250 people dead and injured thousands more, one very special dog is stepping up and saving lives.
Outfitted in special goggles and protective boots, the hardworking Labrador retriever had already saved 53 lives before she began search and rescue efforts after the Mexico earthquake as part of the Mexican Navy’s (SEMAR) Canine Unit.

Frida was even honored by Mexico’s President who tweeted earlier this month:
Ella es #Frida, pertenece a la @SEMAR_mx y ha ayudado a salvar 52 vidas en distintos desastres naturales a nivel nacional e internacional. pic.twitter.com/iLy87aCRFX

Frida is a very, VERY good dog!
Of course, Frida isn’t the only dog working hard after the earthquake. Police search and rescue dogs are working tirelessly to save lives, too.
